The City of Greater Geraldton wishes to advise that some parking bays in the Geraldton CBD will be restricted for the Australia Day event on Sunday 26 January from 6am to 10pm.

The parking lot adjacent to the Geraldton Multipurpose Centre and the Fifty Cent Swing as well as a portion of the Francis Street carpark will be partially closed to allow for the setup and completion of the event.

The ACROD parking bays by the Geraldton Multipurpose Centre will remain open for permit holders and five additional temporary ACROD parking bays will be in place in the Francis Street carpark.

Boats and RVs will still be able to park in the designated RV and boat trailer bays located behind the Mid West Ports Authority offices.

Penalties apply for light vehicles parking in this zone without appropriate permits.

Several bays near Lot 601 and Two Foreshore Cafe on Foreshore Drive will also be restricted during this time.

A temporary road closure will be in place along Marine Terrace from Lester Avenue to Fitzgerald Street roundabout northbound between 8pm to 9pm.

Southbound from Lester Avenue to Fitzgerald Street will be open under traffic management to allow for pedestrians to exit after the Europcar WA Fireworks Display.

Members of the community are requested to exercise caution and obey all warning signs and directions from authorised City personnel and contractors.

The City appreciates your patience while these restrictions are in place.
