All Ability Day
All Ability Day is an annual event hosted by the City of Greater Geraldton that celebrates International Day of People with Disability. It takes place at the QEII Seniors and Community Centre and Queens Park Garden.
The aim of this event is to bring awareness and create a fun and diverse space for community members of all abilities to come together and have a great time while experiencing a variety of activities that foster connection and inclusivity. From karaoke and African drumming, to interacting with animals and art therapy, there is something for everyone.
The event is carefully tailored with communications boards, access matting for wheelchairs, gophers, walkers, and people with mobility impediments, as well as shade, chairs, a water fountain and a quiet space for those who need a break.
Market stalls are part of the event offering local and handmade items to the community. Service providers are a vital part of the event, and a presensce at All Ability Day ensures community has access to and knowledge about services available within Greater Geraldton.
It's an event that promises fun, laughter, connecting, and beautiful interactions, is always accompanied by a free sausage sizzle trailer and healthy nibbles for all with the support of local sponsors and the Midwest region.
All Ability Day is free to attend and aligns with the City’s Strategic Community Plan of an enhanced lifestyle through spaces and programs that foster connection and inclusion.
