A major review of the City’s Strategic Community Plan is nearing completion with a draft document now available for feedback.
Late last year the City launched the Your Voice Our Future Project and engaged with hundreds of community members of all ages including residents of Mullewa, Walkaway and Greenough about the future of Greater Geraldton.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune said community ideas and aspirations helped shape the Draft Strategic Community Plan 2025-2035.
“We asked what you liked most about our City and what could be done to make it even better,” he said.
“You told us you love the coast, natural environment and strong sense of community.
“We also heard you want community safety improvements, a ‘greener’ City, protection of the environment and better access to activities and services for all community members.
“Some of the key challenges you said we will need to face include advocating for better access to health services and addressing population growth, housing, waste management and recycling.
“These aspirations and along with others will be our focus over the next ten years and your feedback will tell us if we got it right,” finished Mayor Clune.
More information on the Your Voice Our Future Project, the draft Plan and feedback form are available on the City’s website here.
Paper copies of the plan and feedback form are available at the Civic Centre, Geraldton Regional Library, Mullewa District Office and the QEII Centre.
The deadline to provide feedback is 9am on Monday 5 May 2025.
This review falls under the Leadership pillar in the City’s current Strategic Community Plan and reflects the organisation’s commitment to moving towards decision making that is ethical, informed and inclusive and a community that is genuinely engaged and informed in a timely and appropriate manner.
