Mullewa Services Summit
In June 2016 the Mullewa Community Group Inc. requested the City conduct a review of the outcomes of the amalgamation and present the results to the community for the purpose of discussion.
Rather than just releasing the outcomes of the amalgamation, the City decided to take the opportunity to engage with the community about the services being provided and to get a better understanding of the type of representation the community wanted after the MOU with the City expires in 2019.
The City implemented a staged approach to engage with the Mullewa community which began with a community survey to gain a better understanding of how well the City is meeting the needs of the Mullewa community and to assist in determining the types and level of services that are most important to residents.
This was followed by the two-part Mullewa Services Summit workshop series where participants deliberated and made recommendations on service level provision to the community, additional services they believe should be provided and their preferred option of future representation.
The results of the Summit will also be used to inform the development of Mullewa priorities for the City of Greater Geraldton Strategic Community Plan and to inform Council’s ongoing deliberations regarding the future representation of Mullewa after the MOU with the City expires in 2019.

Summit Outcomes
On Monday 13 March the City held a Community Summit follow-up meeting to inform the community of the results of the Summit and what the City and other organisations have been doing to progress prioritised service delivery.
One of these outcomes has been the development of a draft Roads Level of Service document. The document classifies roads into various categories based on being sealed or unsealed and traffic volumes and recommends maintenance schedules accordingly.
