Preparing Lots Over 5 Hectares for Bushfire Season
All large lots larger than 5 hectares in size will need to meet the following requirements by the Annual Fire Hazard Reduction Notice deadline.
All buildings and structures must have a minimum of three meters clearance of all combustible material. Structures include private power poles.

Fire breaks must be a minimum of three meters in width and have a minimum overhead clearance of four meters.
Mineral earth or mulched breaks installed within 20 meters inside and along the whole external boundary of land held in continuous ownership up to a maximum of 200 hectates.

Old Greenough Shire
Burning is prohibited from 15 October 2023 - 14 February 2024
Permit to burn broadacre is required from 15 February 2024 - 6 April
Permit to burn required all year round within the gazetted fire district.
Mullewa District
Permit to burn is required from 1 March - 15 March 2024
Open burning 16 March - 15 September 2024 (permits required from 16 September 2024)
