Expression Of Interest - Aquarena Entry Artwork
The City is seeking Expressions of Interest for an original design which will create a visually appealing entry statement in the airlock lobby at the Geraldton Aquarena.
The Aquarena plays a vital role in our community, welcoming over 200,000 visitors annually. The City is seeking a design which connects the aquatic experience with local culture and lifestyle, in which the ocean is deeply ingrained. The artwork should transform the everyday space into a welcoming entryway that appeals to people of all ages.
In addition to the theming of broader aquatic experiences and the natural marine world, artists may choose to showcase community activities offered by the Aquarena. For example, children’s swimming lessons are designed around ocean animals, with each class level named after a different sea creature (Jellyfish, Guppy, Seahorse, Snapper, Penguin, Manta Ray, Dolphin and Walrus). Or take into consideration the local popular marine life, for example our prized crayfish and dhufish.
The successful applicant is required to provide their design as a high-resolution digital file for reproduction as a high-grade vinyl and aluminum application.
Important Dates
This EOI will close at 5pm on Thursday 29 May 2025.
The successful artist will be notified by 4pm, Thursday 12 June 2025.
The successful artist to provide artwork file in PDF format to the City by 4pm, Thursday 3 July 2025.
