About the position:

This position is responsible for supporting the Team Leader – Waste Facilities in the day-to-day running of the weighbridge functions including operating the weighbridge, providing administrative support and good customer service to all the Landfill users. Additionally, the Senior Weighbridge Operator provides guidance and direction to the Weighbridge Operators as instructed by line manager.

This position is permanent part time, working 66 hours per fortnight as part of a rotating roster which includes weekends and public holidays.

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage all weighbridge functions at the Meru Landfill Disposal Facility.
  • Provide on the job training and guidance to Weighbridge Operators to ensure consistency in service delivery and data entry accuracy.
  • Assist in the development of rosters, processes and procedures for the Weighbridge Team and facility.
  • Work with and advise general public and contractors using Meru Waste Disposal Facility in a polite and efficient manner.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will ideally have previous experience in operating a weighbridge or demonstrated experience in a similar role with willingness to learn. Furthermore, have good customer service and communication skills with ability to lead a small team.   

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $72,450 per annum (pro rata) or $36.66 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
