3.12 Local Government Act 1995

The Council of the City of Greater Geraldton resolved on 24 February 2015 to propose the following local law:

Animals, Environment and Nuisance Amendment Local Law 2015

The purpose and effect of the proposed local law is as follows:

Purpose:

The purpose of this proposed local law is to:

Ensure that there are means for controlling the keeping of animals to address any associated issues that have the potential to adversely impact on the health and well-being of the community. And to correct minor typographical errors or omissions with the previously Gazetted local laws.

Effect:

To allow health related issues to be sufficiently controlled so as to provide an acceptable standard for the maintenance of public health in the community, correct minor errors and remedy the disallowance of previous local laws relating to the new district of the City of Greater Geraldton.

View the Amendment to the Animals, Environment and Nuisance Local Law 2015. Alternatively, a copy of the adopted local law may be inspected at or obtained from the City of Greater Geraldton’s Civic Centre and Mullewa District Office between 8.30am and 4.30pm.

The public are invited to make comment on the proposed local law by completing a Submission Form and returning it to the City by close of business by Friday 26 June 2015.
