Australia Day 2022
‘We’re All Part of the Story’ is the theme for this year’s Australia Day event, which is set to take place at Stow Gardens on the Geraldton Foreshore this Wednesday 26 January from 7am - 9pm.
Over in Mullewa, community members will be able to hang out at the Doc Docherty Pool from 8am where there will be a traditional barbecue breakfast followed by the Community Citizen of the Year Awards.
A huge thank you to our event sponsor Lotterywest and our fireworks sponsor Europcar WA! Without their support we wouldn't be able to deliver all the fun and respectful activities we have planned.

Get to know the headline act:
Get to know the 2022 Australia Day Ambassador and Master of Ceremonies:
Conrad Liveris is considered “one of Australia’s leading employment and workplace experts”. Grounded by a belief in opportunity for all, Conrad works across sectors to improve economic and social outcomes. He currently runs his own HR and risk advisory practice, working with leaders and organisations to improve how we work.
His knowledge, particularly on gender equality, diversity and the changing economy is held in high regard by business and government. He previously worked in public policy, communications and management roles across sectors. For five years he founded and ran a homelessness charity with national reach which collaborated with homeless people themselves to advocate for holistic responses to and inform the community on modern Australian poverty. He is currently a contributor to The Australian newspaper and regularly is called on to explain complex socio-economic issues across the media.
During the 2016 US election he wrote a column for Washington DC’s most read newspaper on gender in the campaign. Conrad is alum of the US State Department, an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society (London), and worked on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. His contributions on gender equality and the economy have been widely recognised including by the Prime Minister of Australia and the Commonwealth and State Parliaments. He is a proud public school kid.
