Silver for Geraldton again

Geraldton has claimed silver in the 2024 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards for a third year in a row, coming just short of gold which Busselton secured whilst bronze was taken out by Collie.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune thanked everyone who voted.

“We are proud to claim silver for a third year in a row and really appreciate everyone who voted for our seaside city in the Awards,” he said.

“Geraldton has had a big 12 months tourism-wise with another lucrative cruise ship season, the fourth Shore Leave Festival and the return of the Midwest’s festival of Aboriginal art and culture Iwarra Wilungga.

“Congratulations Busselton – and rest assured we are coming for the gold in 2025! In the meantime, we will continue to support our tourism industry and promote our slice of paradise near and far.”

Geraldton was presented with the award at the 2024 Perth Airport WA Regional Tourism Conference Dinner in Mandurah on Tuesday evening.

The Awards recognise destinations with a strong commitment to tourism and increasing visitation in their locality.

Winners from each state will now progress to the national awards, which are being held later this year.
