Stomachs will be satisfied all throughout the City of Greater Geraldton thanks to the addition of new smart barbecues.
Earlier this year the City commenced upgrading its existing free to use public barbecues with modern Christie CC2-i Cooktops.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn is excited to get grilling.
“The new Christie CC2-i Cooktops provide real time information to the City on when they need to be repaired,” he said.
“Importantly the barbecues will be safer for everyone to use as they turn off if they don’t reach an optimum cooking temperature. We can also monitor the usage of each unit.
“A really awesome feature is that the cooktops are accessible and inclusive, meaning that all members of the community can use them whether they are standing or seated.”
The updated smart barbecues are currently available to use at the Mullewa Recreation Ground, Doc Docherty Pool and at Mersey Park in Cape Burney.
A new double barbecue has been installed adjacent to Champion Bay Surf Lifesaving Club and will come available in the coming weeks.
