About the position:
The City is seeking an organised and self-motivated person with attention to detail to join the Treasury & Finance branch in the position of Finance Officer – Accounts Payable.
This position is responsible for end-to-end accounts payable processing whilst accurately maintaining accounts systems and delivering excellent customer services to both internal and external stakeholders.
This is a permanent full-time position, candidates seeking part-time employment are encouraged to apply.
Key accountabilities:
- Responsible for end-to-end accounts payable processing for the City, ensuring all payments are made in a timely manner and in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995, associated Regulations and Council Policies.
- Maintain the creditors’ database, creation of new suppliers and amendments to existing suppliers.
- Monthly reconciliation of credit card and supplier statements.
- Demonstrate a high level of flexibility in providing support and assistance in a proactive manner to all other functions within the accounting services team as and when required.

Position requirements:
Candidates should have a Certificate IV in Accounting and relevant experience or lesser qualification with significant experience. The successful applicant will have a working knowledge of accounting principles including accounts payable processes. Sound computer literacy skills with proficiency in a range of IT applications and experience in maintaining databases are highly regarded.
A national police clearance is required for this position.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
The Finance Officer - Accounts Payable position has a salary starting from $72,450 to $82,745 per annum or from $36.6648 to $41.8750 per hour, offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
