About the positions:

This opportunity is for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract with the possibility of extension.  

The City is seeking an organised and proactive person to join the City Growth branch in providing effective and efficient administration and customer service to the community. City Growth is responsible for the City’s planning and building services and while this role will have responsibilities across all branch functions, its main responsibility is to the building team.

The Administration Officer role provides a high standard of administrative support to the business units within the City Growth branch. The incumbent of this role ensures a professional work environment and strives to continuously improve teamwork, processes and effectiveness in the work area and across the organisation.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the City Growth teams in all key functional areas including but not limited to records management, permits, financial administration, statistical data entry and meeting administration.
  • Provide effective customer engagement through general enquiries (personal, written or telephone) relating to development and delegate operational matters to teams as necessary.
  • Contribute towards the development and implementation of guidelines, policies and procedures.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will have previous experience in general administration and business support duties, including dealing with customer enquiries and data entry. High attention to details skills are required along with demonstrated time management and organisational skills.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $72,450 per annum ($36.6648 per hour) will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
