Invasive European wasps found in Geraldton

The City of Greater Geraldton wishes to advise an invasive European wasp nest was recently discovered in Webberton and destroyed by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD).

Additional surveillance traps have been placed in the area by DPIRD to ensure there are no other nests nearby.

Residents are requested to be vigilant and report any suspected European wasp sightings via the department’s MyPestGuide Reporter app™, by contacting the Pest and Disease Information Service via email padis@dpird.wa.gov.au or by calling 9368 3080.
