Gallery welcomes funding boost

Creativity and art in the Midwest will receive a boost thanks to a recently announced funding from the State Government.

Geraldton Regional Art Gallery (GRAG) alongside Bunbury Regional Art Gallery will share in $300,000 of additional investment over the next three years in recognition of ongoing regional impact.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune thanked the State Government for their continued support of GRAG.

“GRAG is a cornerstone of the arts in the Midwest and a crucial component in supporting social connection and liveability in our region,” he said.

“This generous funding will go a long way in helping to maintain and expand upon the top tier arts and cultural experiences the Gallery provides to our community.

“I look forward to seeing GRAG shine even brighter thanks to this funding from the State Government.” 

Member for Geraldton Lara Dalton MLA presented the funding on behalf of the State Government and was enthusiastic about supporting the arts.

"Arts and Cultural funding is important in regional communities creating an array of entertainment and tourism opportunities,” she said.

“I will always advocate for increased investment in the regions and am thrilled to see this funding delivered to Geraldton Regional Art Gallery along with Bunbury Regional Art Gallery.”

Geraldton Regional Art Gallery will receive the additional $50,000 per year over three years from 1 July as part of the State Government’s Arts Organisation Investment Program.
