Exciting times are ahead as the City of Greater Geraldton announces the highest value of development applications in a decade.

Applications totalling $144million have been submitted over the last twelve months including the redevelopment of the historic Radio Theatre to a variety of residential projects, new entertainment venues, a commercial precinct, renewable energy infrastructure and more.

City of Greater Geraldton Deputy Mayor Natasha Colliver is elated for what these latest developments will mean.

“Geraldton and the Midwest has it all, offering liveability alongside a diverse range of opportunities for investors and comparatively great bang for buck,” she said.

“A concerted effort by the City to streamline the development approval process by reducing assessment timeframes has meant we have been able to respond positively to the current surge of interest in our region. Long term this will provide growth, sustainability and jobs.

“I am also particularly excited by the influx of renewable energy projects and the significant interest Geraldton has received from major global energy producers like BP.”

“Currently the City is undertaking an industrial land study to explore rezoning possibilities which has the potential to make Greater Geraldton even more attractive to potential investors,” added Deputy Mayor Colliver.

Further information regarding development assessments, upcoming meetings of the Development Assessment Panel as well as previous decisions can be found on the City’s website.
