Damaged Bins

Wheelie bins used for weekly rubbish collection do not belong to the City and are the responsibility of property owners.

If your bin was damaged during collection through no fault of your own, you can lodge a claim to have it replaced.  The City reserves the right to investigate damaged bin claims on a case-by-case basis.

Overloading bins is a leading caused of damage. To ensure this doesn't occur avoid placing heavy items and materials such as bricks, timber and steel in your bin.
